Lima United Methodist Women in Action!

Welcome back to Lima UMW study and fellowship activities with Esther and Ruth Circles plus our projects that will finance our pledges to missions that reveal God’s love and care for women, children, youth, and families. A snapshot of our plans* for Fall of 2019 include:

The business meeting will include and is not limited to a brief report about the 2018 UMW Assembly which Beatrice Davids and Linda Youngstrom attended as your representatives, discussion of our current mission projects, and creating our budget for 2019. Please check church bulletin sign up tab to register your attendance.  See Sandy Fagley with any questions.

 Volunteers in Service to Others

Knit and Crochet Fellowship thanks you for your prayers and yarn donations. The group’s skills, creativity and time produced 266 sets of winter hat and scarf for the needy.  Five local service groups were very appreciative of this out pouring of God’s love that will warm their hearts and bodies.  Recipients were a group home at Elwyn Institute, Eastern PA Shelter in Phila., Pathways PA (aka. Women’s Alternative Center), and clothes closets at St. Daniels and Media UMC’s.

For spring 2019, the Knit and Crochet Fellowship will focus on creating baby blankets and caps to donate to the Chester City Team’s Closet where mothers can “shop” for their children’s needs.  During May, look in the church bulletin for suggested donations and for the table set up in the narthex with the “shower umbrella” to receive your generous donations.

**See Sunday bulletin Sign Up tab for volunteering.

There are 3 billion people around the planet who survive on $2.50 a day or less.  God has a vision today for His people.  Who will work for God to extend His kingdom into our hurting world?  Our response can be:  Here we are Lord! Empower us for your work. See Proverbs 16:3.

Please contact Sandy Fagley or Linda Youngstrom with your questions and / or suggestions.
